When fascists lose elections, they don't abandon fascist ideas, they abandon elections.

On that note - because the judgment is stayed until Jan 4, and the primary ballot deadline is Jan 5, all Trump has to do is file the appeal on Jan 4. SCOTUS will not respond in ~24 hours, and Trump goes on the primary ballot.

SCOTUS shouldn't then call it moot, because the same judgment will apply to the general election, but they're going to be really behind the eight-ball on this. If they take up the appeal, there is no ruling they can make which will not end in at least vast public uproar. I'm still of the opinion that they will decline to hear the appeal, on the basis of states being the sole authority for operating elections.

This is the correct interpretation of the law, but they have recently gone on a "let's ignore all precedent" streak when deciding certain cases.

The owners intentionally bred willful ignorance through their media machines and captured government for half a century, all so they could destroy the planet, outsource jobs to third world slaves, and just plain forget about the concepts of antitrust and the social contract to increase profit with the promise of piss to come. Now even they have lost control of their conspiratorial, deluded zombies.

There was no eventuality in which that didn't end in cataclysm. Mass ignorance is a destructive force. And look at the state of the ruins of our K-12 system the owners destroyed to further cut their taxes if you want to claim we aren't all in on mass ignorance.

If you want a free, fair society, you need informed, educated citizens. But that's bad for business, because a society of educated, informed citizens would understand how bad they're getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard almost 50 fucking years ago.
