I'll be happy if this means getting actual 1080p video from their streams. It's insane to me that they have all this tech and still steam in 720p

Sounds like they’re mainly doing a big update to the app with a focus on streaming. Long overdue. Looking forward to this! Especially the launches

I remember that at least around 2000, they streamed video on the MBone, which was probably a lot more bandwidth-efficient then any streaming service today.

Exciting news. I loved watching the nasa channel when I was younger. It had lots of boring content, but was the only way I knew how to watch launches when you are nowhere near a spaceport/launchsite.

Hope the put some funding towards educational content.
