A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Okay, serious question... Is lemmy supposed to be pronounced like the contraction of let+me? I've been pronouncing it like... Limb+E.
No, you're correct. The software was named after the small rodent (lemming). One of the co-creators of lemmy talks about the name here: https://lemmy.ml/post/70319
It's just that "lemmy" sounds like you're saying "let me" quickly and not enunciating properly.
