The question is: her duties to whom? To the people who elected her, or to her husband? I'm sure I don't need to ask the question. Texas Republicans seem to be particularly cynical and corrupt, even by the debased standards of the modern Republican Party.

"Carry out her duties" to continue the corruption in the Texas state government. He's the one that got her elected, no way she doesn't vote to acquit.
What a thinly veiled way to insinuate that she won't participate in good faith, given that good faith participation intrinsically means recusal.
