During the town hall, residents repeatedly interrupted Sramek and shouted out their lack of faith in Wall Street trader-turned-novice developer. One of the most contentious moments came when Marge Grow-Eppard, a member of the Miwok tribe, said Sramek had disregarded the region’s indigenous population and would “cement over” Native American burial grounds.

“What about the Native American graves that you’re going to be excavating and building on without even consulting us, the natives of this land?” she said. “This is very disrespectful for us, and I’m sick of developers coming in and we don’t know nothing.”

Sramek said he was a relative newcomer to the US, with only a decade in the country.

“I could not have done anything to your people,” he said.

Lady, look. I only joined the settler-colonial project ten years ago, gimme a break!

Only joined the settlers ten years ago and already engages in their tradition of desecrating native places of worship, he's really going for the model minority angle.

You’re doing it right now you fucking moron, one of said people is in front of you asking about the graves you’re planning to desecrate!

"I haven't done anything to you" I say as I prepare to do something to you.

How fucking reassuring.

"I could not have done anything to your people"

Says the removed that make society worse with their hedonism, and then openly brag about it.

I used the NIMBYs to destroy the NIMBYs.

These are exactly the fucksticks that oppose better urbanism in bay area cities in order to preserve their views or property values or whatever. So, bewildered as to how the bay area is so fucked up by the NIMBY policies they've pursued, the plan was to do it again but from scratch this time in famously city-slicker-elite friendly and totally pro-urban rural America. Gosh, it's almost like billionaires aren't actually smart or something.

Remember when liberals whipped themselves into a frothing rage about how it was actually the evil Chinesians stealing (lol) 'murican land to spy on Travis AFB? With no evidence at all? Where's the NYT thinkpieces now?

Turns out the thread about Cyberpunk 2077 being too hamfisted in it's critiques of capitalism was wrong, they're literally trying to build Night City but on top of a Native American burial ground IRL.
