I love That Gun for the Blade Runner reference. Also, it's a pretty powerful pistol early on in New Vegas.

What's your favorite weapon from the Fallout series?

The Fallout 1 Red Ryder LE BB gun can be devastating with the right character build. Super low action points to use, and the ammo weighs almost nothing. With a high luck sniper build character, it can fire up to 3 times per turn, inflicting multiple critical hits.

It’s only available by getting a particular special encounter, which makes it feel pretty special.

I proudly killed the Master with it.

The New Vegas ‘That Gun’ isn’t even the first Blade Runner gun in Fallout. The first two games had the .223 pistol, which was pretty good for the midgame. The ‘That Gun’ is a double reference both to Blade Runner and the old games.

Never knew, makes total sense. TIL!

I actually forgot until I just looked it up that the Fallout 1 handgun is actually unique in the game. There’s only one available, gotten by way of a specific side quest. Which is neat.

It shares ammunition with the early game hunting rifle, but offers almost double the damage, making a good way to put early game ammo to use.

Only in America!

Ratslayer in New Vegas.

That Gun for the Blade Runner reference

This Machine is also a reference:

This Machine is an unique battle rifle, a gas-operated, semi-automatic, clip-fed rifle chambered for the .308 round.

This Machine is a reference to Woodie Guthrie's guitar, which had a sticker stating "This Machine Kills Fascists" emblazoned on it. This Machine has the statement "Well This Machine Kills Commies" seemingly phrased as a direct reply, carved into its side.

Darn, why they putting politics into Fallout?!??? /S

I feel like “That Gun” is one of the most famous and well known guns in New Vegas, so I’m not sure if it counts as obscure!

one of my recent character builds was Explosives-based and after that run i can confidently say Red Glare is my personal favorite for just the sheer volume of dumb fun that weapon can provide.

That Gun and the .223 pistol are favorites of mine. I would also have to give it to the Survivalists Rifle and the YCS-186 as great high damage rifles.

For unarmed I like to have Pushy and the Paladin Toaster. I really wish I could dual wield them.

The Holorifle slaps, it's always fun to use.

The YCS/186. I have a deep love for any one and done style firearm, the satisfactory boom of each shot, the slick reload, weighty feel. I don't care that the ammo cost is high or the repair work is tedious, it's so worth it.

The Two Step Goodbye because it's chaotic as fuck for unarmed builds. You can crit someone in a small room and kill everyone (including yourself).

The Two-Step Goodbye is a unique variant of the ballistic fist, with only a single barrel mounted on the forearm. Sections of this ballistic fist are colored yellow, as opposed to the standard variant's monotone color scheme. An explosives warning symbol is printed on the side.

If a target is killed by a critical hit, the contact-triggered explosives will detonate within the fallen target after two seconds, subsequently dealing an extra 175 splash damage. Friendly non-player characters caught in the blast radius may become damaged, and even turn hostile, if the user is not careful.
