  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I WANT MY REPUBLICAN COLLEAGUES TO GIVE ME ONE THING. ONE. THAT I CAN GO CAMPAIGN ON AND SAY WE DID. ONE. ANYBODY SITTING IN THE COMPLEX, IF YOU WANT TO COME DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND COME EXPLAIN TO ME, ONE MATERIAL, MEANINGFUL, SIGNIFICANT THING THE REPUBLICAN MAJORITY HAS DONE BESIDES, WELL, I GUESS IT'S NOT AS BAD AS THE DEMOCRATS.

He also criticizes his party for not sticking to their promises to cut spending and warns that they better do so when the House returns after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Just in case anyone gets the mistaken impression that this rant was righteous or well intentioned based on what OP chose to add in ALL CAPS… It’s not. Chip Roy is still a Republican, after all.

The reason I included it is because it's a perfect sound byte for Democrats to campaign on.

Well then, let’s hope the DNC uses Lemmy.

Hey! I actually thought the same thing. It would be a really good quote to show that they haven't done anything at all.

That's not what I took away from that. The all-caps summary is obviously sarcasm intended in the voice of Chip Roy.

It's a direct quote from Chip Roy. I don't think he meant to highlight the fact that House Republicans have been completely useless, but it's the text I was able to copy from the transcript.

lol you sure about that? Hint: It's a direct quote.

Republicans don't do anything for the voters. They cut taxes for the rich, stop any help for citizens, and stop government for functioning. But lately in the House, Republicans have stopped Republicans from functioning too.

And "not as bad as the democrats" is only true if you are rich or a greedy corporation.

Stop voting for Republicans, they are not in government to help people.
