Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Nobody is forcing you to use Wayland. Just take up the mantle of maintaining X11 yourself, because nobody is forced to keep that alive either.

Wayland shills call everyone names but the moment anyone criticises it they call everyone they don't like a bigot, get them cancelled and stop any discussion about the negatives of wayland. Why are they so insistent on forcing everyone to adopt an unfinished product? It's almost like a big corporation with a hat wants to sabotage the linux desktop.

I create an account once the previous one gets banned by moderators who get their feelings hurt. I do not create them for specific purpose.

No, there are legit red hat employees moderating instances. This is similar to reddit's linux subreddit too. They ban anything anti red hat and use dirty practices like censorship and vote manipulation. Most people are not aware of this and blindly advocate for them.

Reposting my other reply. There are legit red hat employees moderating instances. This is similar to reddit's linux subreddit too. They ban anything anti red hat and use dirty practices like censorship and vote manipulation. Most people are not aware of this and blindly advocate for them.

wayland solved a vsync issue i had with firefox

obs works with full screen capture on wlroots and also with per-window capture on kde and gnome
redshift is for xorg. use gammastep on wayland instead
