So this is gonna be really bad, right? Any other reason for it to be released 3 years after it finished filming?

The humour in Borderlands 3 felt dated by about a decade. I imagine this will be worse.
It will probably be like one of those movies that shares the name but then is total different from the source material
It was great in BL1 when first released, but the jokes just feel old and tired now.
Yeah. I’m old and slow and it even felt dated to me, though I still really enjoyed some of it. BL2 was far superior. Everyone always talks about that Handsome Jack monologue with the spoons but the side quest where that little town has the shivers was just flat out hilarious and awesome.
this is gonna be really bad, right?
Of course not.
It's going to be so much worse.
Not to mention Craig Mazin taking his name off the movie like 2 years after filming wrapped, the cast itself is good but I think he was the only hope this movie had of being competent lol
I cannot express how much I do not want this
I can't wait for the faithfully reproduced, lengthy inventory management scenes.
Correction, it's coming out in August 2024. I don't know how the author thought "next August" doesn't mean next month.
That's how I would say it. I would say "coming in August" for next month, and "coming next August", for the following one.
I would just say August 2024 so as not to be confusing.
Well that's not very click-baity of you
The very first thing announced for the movie was the cast, and it immediately killed any hope I had. Cate Blanchett as Lilith - Odd choice, Lilith didn't seem that old in the games. Kevin Hart as Roland - Wtf, nothing about Kevin Hart screams strong professional soldier! Jack Black as Clap Trap - I love Jack Black, but why choose him when the voice actor for Clap Trap from the games exists!? Certainly, Clap Trap will be CGI, so why not use the original voice actor?
Jack Black walks out in a Clap Trap t-shirt.
You know...... that might actually make this watchable. Great CGI for all the monsters, fantastic action and gun play, and Jack Black wearing a cardboard box around his waist, vaguely painted to look like a robot, as if done by a child.
Watching plot of Borderlands without it's gameplay is like watching porn without sex scenes.
I love the Borderlands series. Borderlands 3 was weak but not enough to ruin it for me. I really have no interest in seeing the movie.
Would love a really good Borderlands movie. Ideally a star studded cast. Edris Alba as Roland. John Goodman is Marcus the gun vendor. Brad Pitt is revealed as Zer0 at the end of the movie
Edit: John Cena is Brick
Idk, this feels like something that wasn't entirely needed. We'll see if it's any good
Craig Mazin asked for his name to be removed. And it's been delayed and sent for reshoots constantly. Yeah, it's doomed.
Gonna be a watch it to see how bad it is movie I can already tell.
This has taken so long to come out I forgot it was being made. Kinda wish it wasn't, don't tarnish the name.
Yeah feel like this is going to bomb!
