I noticed this once as well. Maybe caching?

I wrote as a top-level comment elsewhere here, but I can see some replies to a comment thread if I use Top sorting and another set of replies if I use Hot... if caching were the issue I don't think I'd be able to view different comment subthreads depending on sorting.
So the problem is likely the Lemmy server software then. Somehow. Yuck.
I mean, that's possible. But I can view all the comment replies to a top-level comment (using any sorting) when using Jerboa instead of Connect. So this issue seems to be specific to Connect unfortunately!
I have been seeing the same thing, where my posts (and replies to my posts) show up in my inbox or under my profile, but when I navigate to the post itself, those posts are missing.
Sorry, what your experiencing is exactly what I'm meaning. I can see the comment in my inbox, but once I go to the actual thread, it's gone.
Yes. Quite annoying, especially when its your own comment e.g.
This comment does not show at all after clicking it from my profile
This particular comment couldn't be loaded because the instance it was posted on was not online. If you visit http://lemmy.fmhy.ml and notice it's online then you should be able to load that comment.
Now it says post can't be loaded. But when it loaded it happened. I think its when too many comments are in the chain, i have another example here only loads stuff that isn't my comment.
Okay, yeah, when I view that from your post history in Connect, I don't see your reply, even when viewing the whole thread. Shows up fine on mobile. Hopefully the issue will be fixed soon.
I had this issue in a recent comment thread. Weirdly, the "invisible" set of comments show up if I change sorting from Top to Hot for example, so I had to switch between sortings to answer different subcomment threads.
One particular reply I got, I couldn't see with either sorting: I could see it in my inbox but not view it in Connect. I had to use Jerboa to see and answer it. Very frustrating and strange.
Clarification: Jerboa shows all comment replies to a top-level comment using any sorting.
For me I notice that this post is said to have 10 replies judging by a comment counter but there are only 4 replies here.
This looks like a Lemmy issue as it's also the case over different instances on mobile rather than just showing in Connect. I'm not sure what the cause is.
