As much as I get the idea, a strike with an end date is ridiculous and makes no difference whatsoever. The reddit CEO even said that he was just going to wait it out, showing how 2 days is nothing. And changing it to forever does seem to have had a real impact, because now they are actually trying to force subs open. However, yes, the mods really should have endorsed one place and gone with it I completely agree, which could have kept the community alive while still not being on reddit in protest

Be sure to follow the rule before you head out.
Rule: You must post before you leave.
Dude, Spez has said he doesn't care about reddit users. He's said that he's gonna wait it out. He does. Not. Care. And shutting down 196 over there is a show of "fuck this shit". I'm sorry you miss your shitposting subreddit but this is about blind users no longer being able to use the mobile app. Mods are going to lose the tools they need to KEEP subs like 196 free of bigots and assholes. So breaking the strike does nothing but show Spez you care more about being able to post your pics than about making the place safe and accessible. Get some perspective here.
this is why downvotes should be enabled
L tbh
The mods were the ones doing all the work (which I can tell you, for a lefty queer sub, was A LOT) of keeping the sub a "safe space."
But sure, they're "killing it" because reddit won't give them proper moderation tools and they're tired and would like to have a real life outside of moderating away fascist brigadiers.
If you want it so bad why don't you take Steve Huffman's bait and volunteer to mod it yourself?
You do realize the people who own reddit sympathize more with fascists than lefty queers, right?
But sure, keep sticking around on a site that wants to platform the people who want you dead, that totally makes sense.
People complained about the Lemmy admins being tankies or whatever, but I'd way the fuck rather be on a site run by them as opposed to a site run by a fucking pasty white fascist.
I still think it would be wiser to collectively migrate to one place, but otherwise perfect response.
