Would it be possible to filter an entire instance for posts?

I don’t mind comments from their users, but it’d be nice to completely hide posts based upon their default instance. (Yes, I could roll my own fediverse instance to defederate what I want to hide, but that is a lot of work for a layperson to do.)

I want that as well, one of the German instances has a number of popular German communities, so I want to block them all (language barrier), but their users often comment in English elsewhere, which also gets blocked. I am using Connect, which lets you block by instance, but it's a bit over aggressive.

Yeah, that exploding heads nonsense could definitely disappear from my feed

Not in the api from Lemmy. Your instance admin would need to defederate

This is in the Memmy app, not for Lemmy as a whole. Mainly asking for client-side filtering of instances.

Yeah I know. Memmy just requests what the api has. Maybe it’s possible client side, but then it might not be great performance wise.

They’ve rejected keyword filtering already.
