I really dig this cartoon style. Does anyone know, how is this called, so I can use it in next image prompt? Thanks!

GTA loading screen art style is usually described as a blend of Pop Art and Neo-noir. The studio that does all their art is Anthrox Studio.

Thank you all for the answers, seems like the word I was looking for is "vexel". Using this, I can create prompt which generates image very similar to the original. Image

Thank you, @StereoCode@lemmy.world

I'm aware of the similarity, unfortunately, this is not netting me the same results.

Another term that wasn't mentioned yet is 'cel shading'

Using flat colors to indicate shadow and gradients.

[–] HangingFruit@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Used vexel and cell shading in the promt, and result is also great Image

Is that a regional thing? I know it as cel.

[–] DeadlineX@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

It is cel. It’s a specific shading process named after celluloid film that was briefly used for animation a lifetime ago. It’s pretty neat actually.

[–] HerbalGamer@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

I know it to be ~~cells being filled with a single colour.~~ not my area of expertise.

[–] mbp@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I hate to be pedantic with naming/spelling but it's silly to speak as an authority when you have no idea what you're talking about...

Thank you for being receptive, good people on this site ✨

[–] DeadlineX@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

It is cel actually. It’s named after transparent paper that was used for animation forever ago, called celluloid.

I think “cel shading” is just 3d shaders that apply that style, though cel shading colloquially just references the style so I may be wrong on that part.

[–] StereoCode@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Vector portrait art. You'll get tons of results that look similar. Any search phrase that includes "vector" will give very similar art styles. Another term that gives good results is "vexel" art.

[–] HangingFruit@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Vexel seems to be closest to what I'm looking for! Thank you

If you use StableDiffusion through a web UI (might exist for others as well), you might have access to a feature called 'interrogate', which allows you to find an approximate prompt to an image. Can be useful if you need it for future images.

It can also be done online: https://huggingface.co/spaces/pharmapsychotic/CLIP-Interrogator

So I've tried it on the link you provided, and this is what I got

a man sitting in the driver's seat of a red car, shepard fairy style art, futurisitc sunglasses, profile picture, official character illustration, andromeda, official splash art, name of the character is chad, credit esa, gta : dubai, hypermasculine, trance music, going forward to the sunset

Chad part is the best one

For the classic game with the same style cabinet art.

[–] DontTreadOnBigfoot@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Which ai art tool did you use?

[–] HangingFruit@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Bing dalle 3

[–] Tagger@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

bing says an illustration of a person driving a red sports car with a futuristic city in the background. The person’s face is blurred out, and they are wearing a black and red racing suit with the letters “EA” on the chest. The car is a red convertible with a black interior. The background is a futuristic city with tall buildings and a blue sky

And the image description you provided, the illustration is done in a comic book or graphic novel style This style is characterized by its vibrant, cartoon-like visuals, imaginative storylines, and humorous dialogue

So not super helpful.

Google bard said:

The image you sent is a digital art of a man driving a red car in a city. The art style is realistic, with a focus on detail and lighting. The man is wearing sunglasses and a suit, and he is sitting in the driver's seat of the car. The city is in the background, and there is a large moon in the sky. The image is also very atmospheric, with a sense of mystery and intrigue.

Here are some specific details about the image:

  • The man's face is not fully visible, but his expression seems to be one of determination or focus.
  • The car is a classic sports car, with a sleek design and red paint job.
  • The city is a futuristic cityscape, with towering skyscrapers and neon lights.
  • The moon is large and full, and it casts a silvery glow over the scene.

The overall art style of the image is very polished and professional. The artist has used a variety of techniques to create a realistic and atmospheric image, including:

  • Detailed lighting and shading
  • Realistic textures and materials
  • A strong sense of perspective
  • A cinematic composition

I would describe the art style of this image as a mix of realism and futurism. The artist has used realistic techniques to depict the man, the car, and the city, but the overall scene has a futuristic feel to it. This is due to the towering skyscrapers and the neon lights in the city, as well as the large full moon in the sky.

Overall, this is a very well-executed digital art piece with a unique and eye-catching art style.

That is AI generated??? WOW. It's so clean.

[–] allywilson@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"I created" is a bit of a stretch haha

Pop-art, neo-noir styles are probably closest.

[–] HangingFruit@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Right. I wanted to formulated it more like: I created a prompt that xxx, but I went back and froth and this is what came out
