I think the worst part about the NFT grift wasn't the invisible commodities pyramid scheme itself, but just offensively bad the art was.
Big Joel made this point, with other collectibles, there is something cool about them, and even without their inflated value due to market speculation, they'd probably still be people into collecting baseball cards or matchbox cars or whatever. Nobody actually fucking likes these ugly ass digital drawings.
