I laughed at this harder than I should have.

Trump is always projecting, it's crazy there are still people who actually support him.

He's a pervert who wants to have sex with his daughter, he's a thug who uses illegal methods in business, and tried to overthrow a democratic election.

How is this guy not in jail yet? The claim that the law is equal to all Americans is a joke.

[–] cultsuperstar@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Republicans protect him, that's why. They know he's corrupt but they have to protect him to protect their own political careers. The Republicans that have spoken out against him haven't faired too well.

Well, as a former political official, he is among them. It's also a bad look to say this because the president has to work with other politicians. If you are an independent or reasonable republican, please vote against him in the primary. Vote for maybe Tim Scott or Nikki Haley or the North Dakota guy or the mayor of Miami. Off the top of my head, they seem milder in bigotry and tyranny. They still are a little bigoted and tyrannical, but not at Trump, DeSantis, or Pence's level.

[–] rev@ihax0r.com 17 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I think Pence torpedoed his chances saying the plight of americans was not his concern

[–] acunasdaddy@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Also the fact that the majority of people from his party wanted to hang him. Literally murder him

Nobody hates their country like a patriot.

[–] Xeelee@kbin.social 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They're self proclaimed patriots that do everything they can to ruin their country, self proclaimed Christians that do the exact opposite of everything their religion prescribes and they claim to be "pro-life" but all their political positions are designed to get people killed. They have nothing but lies.

I thought he made America great again, did that not work out?

As that traitorous cow was the one who helped bring this about, I would love to see him branded.

(On the rump would be sufficient for me, but don't let me get in the way of your good time.)

[–] DocMcStuffin@lemmy.world 23 points 1 year ago

Donald Trump brands ~~US~~ his campaign a ‘third -world hellhole’ run by ‘perverts’ and ‘thugs’

Fixed it. Remember every accusation is a confession with these folks.

[–] kindenough@kbin.social 22 points 1 year ago

Projection you say?

[–] Raphael@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago (3 children)

July 16th, 2023, I agree with Trump for the first time.

[–] YoBuckStopsHere@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I know my perspective is different due to living in Colorado. I couldn't imagine the hellscape that Florida, Texas, or Oklahoma are and I feel sorry for all those stuck in those places.

[–] flucksy_bango@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm a trans woman in living Florida. I'm very scared. I can't get out. I rarely leave my home these days.

[–] sweetviolentblush@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hey friend. I'm not too far from you in a much safer, blue state. If you ever need help or anything, even just to talk lemme know

[–] flucksy_bango@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I appreciate the offer, you're very kind.I have friends all over the country that have offered similar support.

I won't leave my brother or mother behind. The main thing keeping me here is that she's stubbornly refusing to move. Last year half the town she lives in got destroyed by the hurricanes. She still won't leave and complains about politics all the time.

It's maddening.

‘perverts’ and ‘thugs’

Things republicans say when they think the slurs they use in other contexts will be poorly received.

[–] WolfhoundRO@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

They just be dropping the words "generic slur" instead of actual slurs and would be no difference in their speeches

[–] yeather@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 year ago

During his administration only or all of history?

handled Covid so badly

This isn't wrong, but is just such an understatement. He did pretty much the opposite of what he should've in every way. He handled it poorly on purpose in an attempt to hurt Democrats, and politicized it at every point to try and rile up his base. He turned what should've been a unifying crisis in this country into a chasm wide political divide we won't be healing from any time soon. The only thing he arguably did right was to push getting vaccines out as soon as possible, which he obviously only did for his own ego.

[–] TechyDad@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

He handled it poorly on purpose in an attempt to hurt Democrats, and politicized it at every point to try and rile up his base.

Exactly this. He saw that COVID was hitting New York hard and decided to not do anything because New York didn't vote for him. As it hit blue states (which were more urban) hard and didn't hit rural red states as badly, he refused to use federal funds to buy needed PPE. Blue states bought their own PPE with their own money and Trump had it confiscated to be redistributed to red states. It got so bad that some states had to sneak PPE in during the middle of the night as if they were smuggling in drugs.

Trump tried to hurt blue states for not voting for him. He was willing to let people die because they didn't support him politically.

Given everything else he did and how presidents are given so much leeway with their actions, I doubt he'll ever be found criminally liable, but he absolutely is responsible for many, many deaths.

[–] DocMcStuffin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

His administration funded development. As for distribution, they did jack all. Biden's people came in, asked what the logistics plan was and there was none. One had to be put together at the last minute.

One of the very few things he's said that I actually agree with. Although I suspect we're not thinking of the same people.

Well, from 2016 to 2020, it was. So he's not that wrong.

[–] Pickle_Jr@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

We're a third world? Great. Let's take our weakest metrects such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure and model policies based on first world countries.

[–] MulhollandDr@lemmy.fmhy.ml 13 points 1 year ago

so him and his friends?

[–] Narrrz@kbin.social 12 points 1 year ago

he's not in charge anymore, though

[–] chemicalprophet@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago

He gives toothy head.

[–] Zeppo@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He sure is quite a patriot.

[–] goforliftoff@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

[–] dyathinkhesaurus@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Does this mean it's a "shit hole country" yet? /s

Did he forget he was the last guy in charge of it?

Edit: added sentence

[–] Coreidan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

It was a shithole long before he came along.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Well I'll be damned.

I never thought I'd ever agree with Trump but here we are. Maybe not with the Biden thing, but certainly the rest of it.

[–] draken@lemmy.villa-straylight.social 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If he had said this 6 years ago I'd have agreed with him.

Sounds like someone is projecting as if he's in charge aga....God forbid

[–] WolfhoundRO@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Wait, this whole operation was his idea

[–] Wookie_the_Ewok@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Apparently tRump has been spending way too much time in Florida. He needs to travel more and see that many areas of the country are not like Florida.

[–] TechyDad@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

No, you see, we got rid of the perverts and thugs in January 2021. At least from the White House. Plenty remain in Congress - especially the House.

[–] MinusPi@pawb.social 2 points 1 year ago

Wow, I actually agree with Trump on something for once.

[–] inflammo@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

I guess we actually agree on something.

[–] theyresocool@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He is a WASP so he would know.

[–] Trebach@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Change the P to an N for narcissist. The only being he worships is himself.

He doesn't even know how to hold a Bible the right way for his own photo shoot!
