It has to be the easiest cycle during the Sumerian patch set because there is no way I 36-starred it in spite of all my trivial mistakes, like skipping bursts during my rotation, or running a suboptimal team on the second half of the 12th floor's last chamber where I chased the enemies across the arena while my hypercarry's burst was active. Had this been the last Abyss, I would've certainly clocked 4 minutes in the last chamber. I can't complain, though; it was genuinely fun and undoubtedly less stressful than any other Abyss in the past couple months!

It‘s been a while I think since I could just slot in Ayaka and Rational and turn my brain off, I definitely take it.

To add to that, it's so much more fun when you can grab anyone you like and have invested into, and then beat the Abyss with. Why can't HoYo get this, right? I get it—there got to be some variety in each Abyssal line-up but, for example, the last cycle's 12-1 was just cheap.

I see the Abyss as a sales argument. The last cycle was made to remind people of their sin to not pull Nahida.

I personally think Abyss sucks no matter what. Putting me into a circular arena and adding a zero or two to enemies’ hp values makes it neither inspired nor engaging gameplay. It‘s lazy endgame fodder.

On a sidenote it still frustrates me that they put resources into a TCG instead of putting those resources into at least starting to introduce proper endgame content.

Yup, it's a much welcome respite, but I'll spend all of it farming upgrades for my core units because I don't trust Hoyo to not pull another 3.7 on us soon. Won't hurt to be fully prepared.

I don't follow leaks so I don't know what's HoYo is cooking for us in Fontaine but it's definitely not going to be pretty after Hyperbloom proved to lower the barrier to entry for the Spiral Abyss. So, if their track record of buffing enemies for the Abyss specifically and the fact this cycle was specially tailored for Eula (to many theory crafters, a weak unit by today's standards) are anything to go by, then I expect them to just do that to us ;)

It was a lot easier then most of the rest of 3.x, that’s for sure. I think it will be many players first 36 star

I still think 12-1 is too difficult compared to the other chambers and jumping from floor 11, but so much better than last rotation, 12-2 and 12-3 are at the perfect level tho

Hmm. Right. I guess it's the multiple waves enemy line-up in conjunction with the corrosion mechanic to blame. Speaking of the subsequent chambers, isn't it kind of odd how they're easier in comparison to the first one? Also, I may complete the Spiral Abyss only to forget about it for two weeks, but I have the feeling this has been an ongoing trend for the last two—if not three—Abyssal cycles

Yeah, it's been like this for a while now, although 12-2 and 12-3 are usually much more difficult than this rotation. A few patches back though the hardest chamber was 12-3, it's good that they changed this to 12-1 because it's easier to change teams and try new strategies.
