In wonder what ever happened to his neighbour hmm...

Sometimes it's better storytelling when left to the imagination.

I liked the use of the newscast to clue us in on the timeframe. I kinda like the blurring of anime reality and fiction by not explicitly telling us that what was on screen was a movie (and I suppose John Adams is supposed to be a generic name in English but it made me think of the composers,.. then the president). The aspect ratio and the color palette of the beginning of the ED making it look like an older anime is kinda neat.

On a metanote, it seems like Shinobu isn't posting all of the episode discussion threads on this instance? Things like Shinigami Bocchan and Genjitsu no Yohane didn't make it over to this instance.

There was some downtime today on lemmy.ml so it could mess with federation.

I just picked up this anime and the explosion of colour, exegaration of physics, and future character dynamics all point to great time to wach as world will burn to ashes this summer. 💥 ☀️💥

I'm loving the art style. The mangaka has a pretty uniqur style that does not jives with me, makes all the characters look permanently sleep deprived. The anime's art style pops out with those loud color palattes, and the characters actually look good.

Clever episode structure

It's an exhilarating yet sad world for our MC to inhabit.

It feels like such a metaphor...

The MC complacency is very clear this episode, Compared to the woman who is taking it very seriously. Can’t wait to see how this show progresses.

I don’t think it was complacency. I would put it as mindset because he was very much aware and intentional about living with no regrets. You can see even the woman at the end went “maybe I should have got the cookie”

So cool to see this series animated. Eve though I've read the manga, the anime seems to breathe some life into the story. Can't wait for the next episode.

The OP felt weird to me, it's like they were given only the trailer and pilot episode to work with. The Part B perspective also gave out padding vibes.

I would not be surprised if they announce a break for a week or two to get back schedule or reduce crunch.

OP and ED are fantastic! Like how they show the two protagonists take on the 100 list thing.
