I mean, it IS heavy, but not for the size.

Once you add in some Knipex pliers, a bit set, a small flashlight, the carrying pouch, the ratcheting bit extender, and a few saw blades, it can get weighty =)

It’s got some weight but on the belt it’s not too bad

Olite iEt EOS flashlight? That's what's on mine. LOL

And it uses a single AA battery (I've got a rechargeable lithium in mine). Couldn't have asked for a better light to compliment the Surge!

It's always nice to meet another minimalist. 😁

Which kind of Knipex pliers do you carry? Everyone seems to go for the Cobra, but I've fallen in love with the Plier Wrench.

Is that the Pliers Wrench XS? Looks amazing.

I am using the Cobra XS, mostly because it fits the leathman sheath perfectly. Damn thing is tiny but incredibly effective!

I actually carry the next size up, the 125. It just fits in my pouch and the extra leverage is nice to have.

Over the years I think I've tried every variation of a small adjustable wrench. Some have been better than others, but none were entirely satisfactory. The Plier Wrench ended that search. It does everything a classic adjustable wrench does, but does it better, more easily, and with less risk of rounding off nuts.

I had that in my Amazon wish list! LOL I do like that the jaws are smooth and don't damage bolt heads. That's my only complaint about the Cobra; even through it can grab, it can also do damage if/when it slips.

I may have to set up a notification for when it goes on sale.

I have also found them useful for straightening things like pocket clips.

I mean it is heavy, I habe the Surge and the Wave and the Surge is has quite a lot more weight but it's also sturdier and judt plainly bigger, different tools for different use cases

[–] DapperDanMan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yup also have a wave + I love both for different reasons

[–] The_Linux_User@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

They both have their pros and cons, I mainly EDC the Wave+ but I have the Surge for when I know that I need something a bit more heavy duty

Is the black paint already coming off? Or is it just in good use already?

[–] DapperDanMan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Been using it a lot already
