Proposed solution:

  • Make sign that says "please keep this area tidy." Send to supervisor for approval.

  • Wait 5 minutes

  • Make sign that says "please keep this space tidy." Also send for approval.

  • Wait for supervisor to ask why 2 different signs were sent for approval.

  • Say you'll look into it

  • Do nothing for 2 hours

  • Put up a sign that says "Keep this area tidy. Thanks!" Maybe add some clipart for spice.

  • Tell supervisor "turns out there was a mixup with the drafts but I went ahead and took care of it."

If done properly that could probably kill half a day or more.

On a good day: anon takes initiatives, we should promote him to senior wageslave (no salary raise tho, don't be silly)

On a bad day: anon is unhinged and tries to derail the company, let's demote him to junior wageslave with mandatory training (of course you understand you will have to accept this lower salary, it's only logical)

This sounds exactly like something from the CIA sabotage field manual, which included a number of ways a worker could slow down or stop production while appearing to be a dedicated employee.

I actually like pointless seriousness, it's better than doing absolutely nothing

Also he's probably salary so he's getting paid regardless of how stupid it is

I can see the point, but I'd rather be doing something actually productive. Fortunately my job actually delivers value to people.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullshit_Jobs

You are likely underpaid for the work you do because you derive satisfaction from your job. Western society has decided as a whole that the more you can provide directly back to the world the less you should be paid. You are cheating the rest of the world's employees, who's jobs grind them into nothing with endless bullshit, by both being paid AND enjoying the work you do.
