Backslash as in "taken down for being an enemy of the state and a threat to the constitution"? No? OK, come back when they remember their oath of office.
If that "widespread backlash" isn't a call for his head and subsequent dragging out into the street, I don't think it matters anymore.

"Widespread backlash" isn't really something that has any repercussions to him, his entourage or his base.
Perhaps if the backlash was backed by mobs exercising their second amendment rights?
Sure, but usually, like here, it's limited to some social media and press moments. Liberal posturing doesn't stop fascists. I hope there's better organizing happening on the ground, but I'm not seeing much from where I am in Europe.
The major media is actively quieting and downplaying any resistance on the ground. It’s actually quite sad to see. But there is movement. I’m just with you, not sure the resistance that being made is the right kind.

I did - all these types of 'backlash against Trump' that are being reported on are mostly hot air.
Organisation takes time to build momentum. Tese defeatist takes on how it does nothing are a core problem in USA's conditioning against protest, and every time someone says this, another person is discouraged from showing up.
I didn't say anything against organizing? I have something against petty bourgeois libs spouting bullshit in the media and not doing anything useful. I applaud people actually organizing, especially those in labor (unions)!

I think both are quite unhelpful. Mocking him doesn't do anything to him or his base. Worse, it often takes the form of ableism and then you're just hurting people around you. Organizing does. It's the only thing the ruling elites fear. Join a protest, a union, a strike, and get more people involved.
I'm with you! I feel like the only time they were honestly upset by what we were saying was when we were all calling them "weird." We should have kept that going.

Call him what he is. A fascist dictator. Not the term he wasnts everybody to call him. It's universally a hated term, unlike the weird fetishisation of monarchy in western cinema and culture.
