I hate having to work on my R720 because getting it back into the rails is a major pain in the ass. It barely fits, so I have to wrestle with it for half an hour to get it to fit.

Is there a trick to this?

2 person job normally, that's all.

Just a pain, one reason I almost prefer supermicro rails, but Dell is better at everything else.

I’ll have to get my wife to help me next time.

It’s those damn pins on the side, I think. It seems like they catch.

They do, I think it's the one thing I had my wife help me with, all my other servers were easy to solo.

It just sucks, the r730 is mildly better but not really.

Are the supermicro rails much easier to work with? I’m considering swapping them out if so.

Not really, and they're not compatible.

I have these things called kingrails from an oem case that are beefy and work pretty well, and some gigabyte ones too.

Good rails are just hard to come by I guess.

I thought I had it locked in once and dropped the damn thing from 2ft. Luckily no damage.
