Addis' design is (loosely) inspired by Mel Medarda. She's a force to be reckoned with.

Konsi is my favorite part of being federated

[–] figaro@lemdro.id 15 points 1 year ago

Same. I honestly don't think Lemmy is better than reddit, even in the current state. But Konsi keeps me coming back daily.

Being on lemmy and by extension fediverse

[–] WeirdAlex03@lemmy.zip 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Her instance in particular, Hexbear, was initially defederated from everyone (that is, disconnected from the wider Lemmy/fediverse network), but recently decided to change their policy and federated (or, joined the network), hence her calling out "being federated" like this

[–] Iraglassceiling@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago

Well summarized

[–] cheeseandkrakens@lemmy.world 40 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Konsi brings me so much joy. I want to play a table with her.

Goblin of the year 🎉👺

[–] Shkshkshk@dice.camp 39 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I always love it when religious characters put the social good above their own personal power. It makes me feel hopeful.

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 33 points 1 year ago

It is a fantasy, after all.

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 18 points 1 year ago (3 children)

But seriously, what is back pay ? I have no clue

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 69 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"Back pay" is when an organization you work for realizes they should have been paying you more than they have been, and returns that lost pay to you.

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 16 points 1 year ago

Huh. Nice. Thank you

[–] Fogle@lemmy.ca 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I can't tell if you're being serious but back pay is when you get a promotion or something like that and it applies retroactively to hours you have already worked. So you get backpay for all those hours. Sometimes it can be a few years with so you get like 5000 hours of an extra 1 dollar pay or whatever

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 16 points 1 year ago

Im not english native, so I was being serious

[–] Papercrane@feddit.de 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Probably some extra money for the work she has done.

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Huh. It would make sense. More money for the special Konsi fun fund then

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's not shown in the comic, but Konsi puts that pay into a charity fund in the temple that funds a soup kitchen in the Field Ward.

[–] sammytheman666@ttrpg.network 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Of course XD I expected nothing short of it.

Althought as a smithing cleric with expensive spells to use, Im surprised she still got as much left.

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We-ell... we've got about 100k stashed between the party from adventures... the pay of a priestess isn't going to be much in comparison.

We've been on a lot of adventures with large payouts, and Konsi's not had much time to smith stuff - and some of the stuff she's made has sold for insane amounts of cash.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What level is she? If she's not already, you might consider the 5th edition version of the old Dwemersmith prestige class. Sounds like she's got all the prerequisites, and spending way less time, money, and XP on magic items is useful for making ridiculously overpowered magic items :)

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 2 points 1 year ago

Ah so... the "5th edition version" of prestige classes is "we removed the concept of prestige classes"

Artificer does have some features that reduce the cost and time to make magic items... but in Konsi's case, there's four problems with taking the artificer class as a multiclass.

  1. Multiclass rules are... pretty bad in 5e, and honestly the game is better if you just don't use them (this is my subjective opinion)
  2. Artificer is a really bad class for Konsi - it gives a lot of features and proficiencies she already has, and some low level spells she doesn't need. (Also it's int-based, and her int is 9, also she doesn't even qualify to take the class.)
  3. She wants to focus on being a cleric (Smithing is mostly a side-gig because she has the hammer.)
  4. The artifact hammer is giving insane discounts to the cost and time of making magic items already, other bonuses probably wouldn't stack. It takes her 6 days and 500gp to make a pair of sending stones.

In the comic here, she's level 9.

Oh this has been cute as hell to read.

I will burn all of Toril if something happens to Konsi knifecat

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] Grownbravy@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Haha^haha^ ohnoes ^you’re^ ^not^ ^laughing…^

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm sure it'll all work out in the end, but right now, bad things have happened in our campaign. I wouldn't end Konsi comics on a sad note though.

[–] Grownbravy@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh so these are based on a campaign you’re playing?

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 7 points 1 year ago

Loosely yes. is an NPC. Mystery, Faelys, Toron, and Sand are the other PCs.

[–] Enkers@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Looks like Kef is getting richer.

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 8 points 1 year ago

Dude's loaded these days...

[–] Currens_felis@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 year ago (3 children)

So is she asking that Konsi should be a junior priestess, or that Konsi should get a junior priestess to help her?

[–] C0rkedchimp@ttrpg.network 27 points 1 year ago

The joke is that until then, Konsi was still considered a Junior priestess on a bureaucratic level, and the high priestess is just like "I can't believe we haven't changed her position, terrible thing to overlook in the paperwork"

[–] Tippon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I might be misunderstanding your question, so apologies in advance if I have.

Konsi's new girlfriend (who's name is currently escaping me), is asking for a suggestion for a present for Konsi, who is a junior priestess. Tyrande and Lady Addis are surprised that Konsi is still just a junior priestess, considering what she's accomplished.

[–] Currens_felis@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I understand, “suggestions for a junior priestess” could mean asking for advice on a gift, as you said, or it could mean “what junior priestess is best”.

[–] burgersc12@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Did you read the first part? Or even the first sentence? Its obviously a gift

[–] Currens_felis@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

I must have rolled low on perception

[–] ahdok@ttrpg.network 23 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

She's asking what kind of present would help "a junior priestess" with their work, because Konsi is a junior priestess.

A better sentence would be "Do you have any suggestions for presents suitable for a junior priestess?" - but speech bubble real estate is expensive.
