Oh nice, we have spambots posting here

I don't see any spambot posts. Care to clarify? Come on, friend, no reason to be vague. Just say what you mean.

You could also just be a very consistent and oddly provocative human. And rather insistent in posting a lot of garbage, either way it's spam to me

Oh, I like that term describing me. I may update my profile with that. Thank you! I'm not even being snarky, I honestly like that description of me.

I am very consistent and oddly provocative! I just told my gf that, and she agreed! lmao

But you have interacted with me before, so you know I'm human. So seems weird that you would suddenly go the "spambot" route.

Meh, I don't write the articles. They come from very public and very popular websites. So I guess not everyone thinks it's garbage. But you are totally free to think that.

But I don't think it counts as "spam" just because you think it's garbage.

Thanks, friend!

The more I read the daily mail that you post the less and less convinced I am of them. Very light short articles and kinda assumes I'm right leaning for all their value arguments.

I feel like they could explore the possible reasons for the higher estimation under biden. They also just assume immigration is a net negative and don't substantiate it.

It just feels like a low effort circle jerk article meant to lean into peoples preconceived notions without adding any insight. If it were anything else I'd imagine it would argue harder.

Guy, it's the Daily Mail. It's not investigative reporting. But they'll look into the shit before US publications do. And they'll come right out say stuff and not worry about pussyfooting around the issue.

But yeah, they are good for the topical part. But there are very few news orgs that do deep reporting. Welcome to the new world.

[–] pebbles@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hmmm. I get the appeal of sharing biased topical reporting. Though that would be junk food knowledge. Can't eat too much of it or ya won't have a foundation.

Though that would be junk food knowledge.

Bruh, look around. That's how the world is.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm saying this is how the world is now. But this is an open community, so you can post whatever you would like and definitely stick with stuff that fits your standards. Doesn't have to be pro-Trump at all. If it's political news that you find interesting, post it!

[–] pebbles@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I agree that the world is full of junk food knowledge. Me being left, these articles don't even look like knowledge cause they just say stuff I don't agree with and don't have any supporting arguments. The words just bounce off me.

I can understand an article making you happy, then feeling like you want to post it. No judgment on that, but why post such a right article in such a left space? Especially such a surface level one? I guess there is dopamine in arguing.

I can easily (but maybe inaccurately) see this as rage bait just to pass the time. That's based on the idea the the daily mail wouldn't convice a leftist on anything.

but why post such a right article in such a left space? Especially such a surface level one?

Because I don't think this should be just a left space. I think there should be more diverse opinions. So I'm being the change I wanna see and I'm posting articles that don't necessarily line up with the democrat groupthink echo-chamber that Lemmy is becoming.

It's not ragebait because I'm not trying to enrage anyone.

[–] pebbles@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I see. Well I wish you luck. You working agaist some pretty large forces lol. It'd be dope to see some pieces that actually have something substantial to say.

[–] admin@lemmy-mormonsatan-u23030.vm.elestio.app -1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Oh, I'm aware that the echo-chamber here is strong. There have even been entire threads to ban me. Luckily not all instance admins believe in censorship.

I've posted articles from AP News, Newsweek, The Hill, Reuters, etc. They are not all Daily Mail.

I've also just created a community that will be posts from Trump's Truth Social network. So I'm assuming there will be more calls to ban me in the near future.

Thanks, friend!

I'm not sure what you mean. Clarify?

[–] DemBoSain@midwest.social 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

...durr..lib'ruls bad...

Bull Maher isn't a good source for anything.

They didn't say he was a source for anything. He's a comedian that has a show that gets decent ratings. So they are just reporting what he said.
