Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Musk's wealth is entirely tied to his assets and the valuation of his companies.
It would be a shame if Trump were to nationalize SpaceX, Tesla, and Twitter via executive order.

Musk started those companies while overstaying his visa illegally. We should just seize all of his assets.

Readers added context:

Musk did not start Tesla or Twitter.

Mask hasn't started shit. He buys his way into companies

A lot of Trump's moves away from green energy and back to fossil fuels arguably hurt Musk. He specifically mentioned in his inauguration that he will ensure anyone can buy whatever kind of car they want: meaning he wants to continue to support ICE vehicles.

Musk's company doesn't exist to sell cars, it exists to sell stock. The cars are part of the commercial. His entire fortune is built off of low interest rates and high speculation.

Whatever happened to those solar panel roofing tiles? Did those ever happen?

[–] rigatti@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

I think in some small capacity, but it was mainly bullshit like everything else he says.

Nationalizing Twitter would probably increase skunk's net worth.

He can just assassinate him. The Supreme Court made it legal for the President to assassinate citizens.

MAGA Republicans are truly a party of the people not the elites or the oligarchs.

Not to single you out, but I have noticed a lot of people having a hard time picking up sarcasm lately, and obvious satire/sarcasm getting downvoted to oblivion.

Like I get that hackles are raised as fuck right now, but I don't quite get the connection...?

Are you under the impression that people are going to say things like this on the record?

[–] blackbelt352@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Not op, yeah do don't really expect someone notnto be anonymous, but we're also jaded to all these anonymous insiders making a big reveal confirming what we all already assume is happening in the admin and... just nothing happens. It's just another news story to go between the feel good story of orphans being saved from the orphan crushing machine and "is this highly corrosive industrial solvent coming out of your faucets? More at 11" in the news cycle.

AKA anyone with a membership to Mar-a-Lago.

Like he won't just lie and make stuff up anyways.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We can't cut his funding? What?

[–] RidgeDweller@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

We can surely cut more than just funding ;)
