Snoopy sits on the table watching Charlie Brown write.

The latter looks up at him and says,"I'm glad that dogs can't read..."

He resumes writing and concludes,"A diary is a very personal thing"

Snoopy walks off smiling.

I really like this old drawing style more than the newer ones.

Does the smile imply that Snoopy can already read at this point? He can eventually read, write, and even use a typewriter.

Certainly seems that way. He's been shown to be generally smart as well already

Nice catch. I actually scrape the transcripts from the site that has the comics so it's an error upstream, but I'll still fix it here 👍
