Dude got the charisma and established brand. If you got so much social capital, a lot of people tend to look the other way. It's kinda like with Trump and Elon Musk, except the two can get away with things in a bad way.
If my faith in humanity were higher before I would think long covid had huge measurable impacts on average intelligence.
It probably did, but bluntly, when were already this far down, getting worse isn't really noteworthy.
I watched that clip on Kimmel. I don't normally watch but I like Bill Burr. Kimmel got really uncomfortable after he said Free Luigi. Not just like the network telling him, but in a way that seemed like Kimmel doesn't understand why people like Luigi.
That's okay. I don't understand why people like Kimmel.
There's lots of things I don't understand.
Like the color of thought and the sounds of a rainbow.

That doesn't make him a bad guy, but based on what I've seen of Kimmel it's entirely possible that he would not understand

I think a lot of rich leftists are hoping that shit holds together long enough that they can die comfortable, even if it means poor people have to suffer decades.
It's against the rules of lemmy.world to call for violence against insurance companies, and the people who work for them, so I won't. But I don't think it's against the rules to imply I would if that wasn't in the rules.

This is slightly off-topic, but I really hope someone films this new Broadway version of Glengarry Glen Ross, because Bill Burr and Bob Odenkirk doing Mamet? Holy fuck do I want to see that.
Yeah, I listen to the Smartless podcast and they've brought it up a few times lately, including when KK was on there recently. I have very little interest in theater, but the cast alone makes me want to check it out. The cast alone will also be why I can't afford to go probably.

I'm telling you, the DNCs head is so far up it's own ass. They act like they are powerless to stop trump but really they are powerless to stop trump. Ineptitude, short sightedness, and hubris. I can't emphasize it enough. They are a sunk cost and the sooner people realize it and move on the quicker we can start to fix all this. Unfortunately, we'll let the cancer grow and root itself further and if they ever come to realize it will be too late.
There's very few people that could run the DNC worse than the current DNC.
You can hand the keys of the DNC to a baked potato and it would do a better job than current leadership.
