The Oct. 7 massacre is more of a tool to Israel than an actual tragedy, they don't actually care for the victims. Imagine dying horribly just for your death to either be celebrated or be used as a justification for genocide, that sounds like a horrible way to go.
Even one of the hostages who was rescued by the IDF called it out:

Well, the UN is not some closed institution. It is the working of its member states and while UN institutions are often far further on matters of lawfulness and basic ethics, they only have limited power to enact.
