It is now possible to manually enable and disable the network or the bluetooth backend for KDE Connect.

So after years the Bluetooth backend is finally no longer hidden behind a compilation switch? Somehow missed this completely.

Don't think so. At least not in the short to medium term. I think it's mostly for Plasma Mobile for now and I hope it'll be usable on Steam Deck which technically could be used as a regular tablet but app support for that use case remains severely limited to this day.

@bunitor @kde not really a replacement, more like a simpler alternatives when you don't need everything from Kmail while keeping the compatibility.
