I’m using Mlem on my iPhone and even the early beta is better than the official Reddit app

Same here, I tried the official app once and it was terrible. So many "promoted" messages cluttering up the view.

Oh supermurs? He’s great. hegetsus

[–] kosmicpulse@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hi, please share the download link. I’m unable to find it in AppStore.

[–] stodrerling@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It is in beta, which means Apple (correctly) does not list it on the App Store. If you want to try it out, you can access it via apple TestFlight which is a program for open betas to collect feedback.

TestFlight installs just like an app, then you use the link for the beta to install the Mlem beta app.

Tl;Dr https://testflight.apple.com/join/xQfmkJhc

Follow the directions to click through and you’ll have the app with a little orange dot next to it. If it ever crashes, it’ll prompt you to explain what you were doing when it happened.

Jerboa (Android) here and the alpha version of this too is way better than the official reddit app

[–] Chairished@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Jerboa is for Lemmy only, not kbin , right ?

[–] Martineski@lemmy.fmhy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Hmm, seems like you can do it now?

the one downvote is from u/spez

Would be funny if u/spez was digging the fediverse and lurking around here.

My goto was Boost for Android and I really haven't found a replacement for it yet (for kbin). But I'm willing to wait rather than use the official reddit app. Hopefully a kbin app will succeed and a community too. Fingers crossed then.

Yea I knew as soon as boost went I wasn't gonna deal with the reddit app. Final straw was seeing the hegetsus ads everywhere, really put a bad taste in my mouth.

I didn't really even have a choice because I was primarily a mobile user. 98% of the time I used reddit in between personal and social transitions away from my desktop. The only time I was really ever on the desktop version was when I had to do mod crap.

I will really miss Joey for Reddit myself. Such a smooth app.

[–] Milk@latte.isnot.coffee 2 points 1 year ago

That was my daily driver on android and I would use Apollo on iOS. Going to miss them both.
