I hope I can make a doctor friend so that one day if I ever get put on trial I can have that friend make me a fake diagnosis.

Why? I'm genuinely curious but I'm not very well versed in legal details.

At the time of the crimes, he didn't have dementia. Is this just a way to escape consequences?

Under US laws, you have to be competent to be able to stand trial.
