If you are so sad, you have to name a mountain back to a president whose biggest achievement was tariffs:

(which were not well received, btw).

I mean, it could always be worse, he could insist the new name is Mount Trump.

Heard about him wanting to rename it before hearing what he wanted to rename it to and actually just assumed he was. I'm genuinely surprised he's not tbh

Petty and dumb but no one's gonna die over this and maybe it'll get a few dumb MAGAs in their $100,000 GMC trucks to cry that they now have the "woke" trim level.

Idea for any entrepreneurs out there: go ahead and start making some "McKinley" badge sets in GMC typeface and throw them up on Amazon. You can have that one for free

Big picture very stable genius focusing on what's really needed by this nation!

What a dolt.

Surely, this will lower the price of eggs!

Wiki:

The tariff was not well received by Americans who suffered a steep increase in prices. In the 1890 election, Republicans lost their majority in the House with the number of seats they won reduced by nearly half, from 171 to 88.[14] In the 1892 presidential election, Harrison was soundly defeated by Grover Cleveland, and the Senate, House, and Presidency were all under Democratic control. Lawmakers immediately started drafting new tariff legislation, and in 1894, the Wilson-Gorman Tariff passed, which lowered US tariff averages.[15] The 1890 tariff was also poorly received abroad. Protectionists in the British Empire used it to argue for tariff retaliation and imperial trade preference.[16]

It'll go over just as well this time...

For those curious, this was when Cleveland was elected to his second non-consecutive term.

Looks like the incoming administration is specifically looking for racist things they can put on their agenda.

With all that productive worker deporting, health care destruction, billionaire coddling, diplomatic relations destroying, and doing as many racist things as they can manage, they will have a busy term with no time for actually governing.

He should follow the will of the people and call it Mt. McMountface.

Also, renumber the presidents, adding Jefferson Davis and removing Obama.

Sorry Donnie. Has to get through Congress along with all the other "deals" you used this weekend to deflect your utter failure of last week.

I actually did not even realize the name had changed. Heck I did not even realize alaska had done so awhile back.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Alaskans have always called it Denali, so the official change was widely appreciated.

honestly I would like us to strip all things named after individuals. its bullshit. no one person deserves that.
