Rules:

  1. All DubVee instance rules apply. See the sidebar at https://dubvee.org/. Those are pretty comprehensive, so we don't really need to add much to those.
  2. No politics outside of what's referenced on the show. Let's leave that drama elsewhere since there's plenty of it.
  3. All posts must be 30 Rock related or adjacent. You dummies are awesome, so I don't think I've ever had to mod any posts for this, but codifying it for good measure.
  4. Less a rule and more of a guideline, but please try to provide alt text if your instance + client combination support it. If not, then please try to make an effort to provide a description of any image posts in the post body. Let's be an a11y when we can :)
  5. Don't make fun of people for misusing dated cultural references. Are we all cowabunga on this?
  6. No talking about Krang. It would be a waste of time to talk about Krang on ~~television~~ the internet.

It's wild that everyone in the industry knew he was a predator but never did anything about it.

Same with Bill Cosby! Even in the commentary for that scene in S3E15 "The Bubble", the commentators were saying something like "We were dancing a fine line here. There's always some level of truth in comedy...". Robert Carlock said that the joke in the original script was even more overtly accusatory, and they had to rewrite it a bit because Cosby was not yet found guilty of anything at the time.

I remember Hannibal Buress as the one who really called out Cosby and brought it into the public consciousness, and he was involved in early seasons of the show.

I was reading an article last night explaining what happened to Peewee Herman out loud to the boyfriend and it had in it a very poorly-aged quote from Bill Cosby defending Herman.

Amazing.

There was nothing they could do except tell women to avoid him.

The victims were too intimidated to speak publicly or take legal action against a millionaire who controlled a large portion of their industry. Anyone the victims told had no hard evidence and would be dismissed as liars if they went around making vague public accusations like "someone I can't name said Harvey assaulted her".

Even now that it's all out in public there are probably still plenty of victims out there who are too scared to come forward.

Oprah Winfrey introducing a scared-looking Rita Ora to Harvey Weinstein

Not everyone was looking out for the victims.
