I only heard about Homestuck a few weeks ago after never once seeing any reference to it. I was blown away that this entire work of fiction could exist and be so big online despite me never having heard of it. I was wondering why this long finished webcomic (that inexplicably helped Undertale become a thing) was suddenly showing up in this gay ass community. I tried looking up recent Homestuck content to see if there was any recent development that inspired the memes, but only found out about past broken promises and shitty business moves made by this Hussie character.

Dejected, I gave up and figured it was just that fans who enjoyed the more queer elements of Homestuck wanted to bring up something they liked from the past.

Then this meme was posted and I learned about an entire active spin off comic that I glossed over when first learning about Homestuck. My entire view of reality has been shattered. What other giant fandoms exist out there? Did these works pop into existence a month ago, retroactively jumping into internet history? Have I entered a parallel universe? What the fuck even are these trolls? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

an entire active spinoff comic

That's just a homestuck fandom thing. There's tons of them, known as fanventures. MSPFA is a site for hosting them if you want to see some more. Some have even gotten pretty popular, like Cool And New Webcomic.

i first heard of homestuck about a year ago but honestly i decided it was too complicated for my tiny smooth brain to understand. (still a fan of undertale though, because that absolutely isn't a giant lorefest in of its own)

Before being a fan of homestuck I was really into Xenogears but avoided talking about it because rhe Fandom seemed to really want to hypersexualize the whole thing. I just liked the robots fighting and obscure references to 80s sci-fi movies.

I wasn't aware other people even liken homestuck untill attending an anime convention with some friends.

Everything i enjoy is full of horny people and I hate it.
