Former United States President Bill Clinton is facing backlash from US Muslim and Arab Americans after saying Israel has been “forced” to kill civilians in Gaza and suggesting the country was in the Holy Land “first” – before the Palestinians.

Speaking at a rally for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in Michigan, a crucial swing US state with large Arab and Muslim populations who the Democrats are trying to win over, Clinton said he understood people’s concerns about the bloodshed in Gaza, but said Israel had no choice but to inflict large civilian losses, even as it is accused of genocide in the International Court of Justice.

For fucks sake, the Democratic establishment just seems to be composed almost entirely of people who are absolute champions at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Seriously, I’m moving if Harris can’t pull out a win.

I wish I could move, but I wouldn’t have enough money to do so, nor do I have the necessary “high skilled worker attributes” either.

Same here, I feel your pain...

The best I could hope for is possibly teaching English in another country, but I don't know the exact requirements for that.

Most people that claim they will move haven't actually looked at what is required from other countries and wouldn't be accepted If they tried to move.

If you live in a blue state, have you thought about moving to a red state? If enough people do, they'll turn blue. (Seriously, California could easily flip the federal government by taking over a few red states. Please come to Arkansas and help us save it.)

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 26 points 4 days ago (3 children)

The thing about moving to a red state is that you have to live in a red state, which is... not a fun time.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

The low cost of living is nice.

Worrying about literally everything that the state government does and knowing that my neighbors, at best, care more about political alignment with their neighbors than they care about the wellbeing of the people or their freedom is not nice.

Arkansas is actually beautiful and has some trendy/lefty areas.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I think this applies to all red states, because basically all American cities lean left, but in the end your life is being affected by a republican state government and that can't be a good time. I mean you could be living in a lefty haven in Texas but you still can't get an abortion, for example.

[–] EvacuateSoul@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

True, and Texas is where I am. Hard to picture staying, but I never end up leaving.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Ain't gonna get better if all the good people flee and all the fashy shitheads move in.

There are just under 200,000 registered Republicans in Wyoming. If ~200,000 Democrats moved there long enough to establish residence, they could get a Democratic senator in 2026. Doesn't seem insurmountable.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Doesn't even have to be 200,000 Democrats. There are about 30,000 registered Democrats in Wyoming already.

Came here to say that exact thing. If only he would read it.

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 9 points 3 days ago

So, about those Native Americans

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 6 points 3 days ago

Is there like a specific age at which someone's brain becomes mush, or is it just random? 🤔

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 25 points 4 days ago

Another Zionist excuse

[–] surph_ninja@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago

Like he was forced to starve 500,000 Iraqi children?

[–] drdiddlybadger@pawb.social 17 points 4 days ago

Great way to show your colors bill.

[–] IchNichtenLichten@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago

Maybe just shut the fuck up for a few more days? What a silly old man.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago

He speaks for the entire centrist wing.

I'm guessing that Israel has all the Epstein files and photos thanks to the mossad. That's how they operate.

  1. bill doesn't even know what the meaning of "is" is.

  2. stfu bill

  3. Hillary was on his dick before the woman he exploited with a cigar in hand. Yet bill is still alive.

  4. stfu bill

  5. his willy may be slick but his skull is thick. History (including the fucking torah), archaeological records, genetic records, all say Israel was not first, and were, in fact, the ones doing all the genocide.

[–] hark@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Why does this sex pest get a platform instead of being "cancelled" like he should be?
