Damn it, if only he had gotten away with it, no one would have known she was running for president!

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 83 points 5 days ago (1 children)

i was going to vote harris, but i didn't see any signs with her name on it, so i guess rapistconmanshitstaintraitor's got my vote

[–] Boozilla@lemmy.world 32 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I like candidates with signs that don't get stolen!

[–] Jesusaurus@lemmy.world 30 points 5 days ago

I like the ones that DO get stolen, because it's an indication that they are that in-demand!

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Not about memory, about voter intimidation.

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 77 points 5 days ago (5 children)

Tuesday is going to be fucking ugly. Wednesday is going to be worse.

[–] HonkTonkWoman@lemm.ee 44 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I don't care if Tuesday's fucking ugly

and Wednesday’s worse

Thursday, Friday, no remorse

Monday we’ll all fall apart

Tuesday, Wednesday, realize we all smell like farts

Oh, Thursday doesn't even start…

It’s Friday, I’m ~~in love~~ still fucking glad I voted

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I don't care if Monday's filing cases without evidence to clog the courts

Tuesday's prematurely declaring victory and Wednesday accusing fraud because vote count went overnight due to unsupported and disproven gop challenges of voting machines

Thursday, trucks with ski masked people pulling up to the Capitol with assault rifles

It's Friday, I'm in a camp for suspected Marxist socialist antifahs!

Monday, barricades at politician's homes can fall apart

Tuesday, Wednesday, break my elderly neighbor's hip when cops break the door down at the wrong home and tackle her for being a suspected "illegal"

Oh, Thursday doesn't even start because musk/trump dept of efficiency has outlawed clocks and calendars so there can be no more legal labor challenges of unpaid overtime, no weekends and no holiday pay

It's Friday, I'm in only the second week of trump's second, never-ending term as America's dictator clumsily toppling 250+ years of democracy

You know you can do the right thing here. Go register, go vote. It's fast, simple and painless. You know we have to tell ourselves the above could never happen here to feel safe, but you also know it's closer to reality then ever before and you can do something, right now.

Nov 6 - Jan 21 is going to be tense. But, if Harris wins it’ll be worth it.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 28 points 5 days ago

Wait until all the bullshit ramps up by Saturday. I totally imagine escalating bullshit for several weeks if not more.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 19 points 5 days ago

I really think people are going to die.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 15 points 5 days ago

And that’s why I vote by mail.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 63 points 5 days ago (2 children)

The man claimed he was expressing his political beliefs

You do that by voting. Dumbass. At least he didn't attack volunteers inside like what's happened in other places. I can't understand people sometimes.

"I didn't mean to cause such a stink, but my understanding is that when signs are placed in public places, like on the road or on government land, it's essentially litter and you're allowed to pick them up if you want to," the man said.

Ignorance isn't an excuse, and that excuse might be more believable if it was off on a road corner at a light or something. A sign in the ground at a voting area...could be litter? Really? Definitely a dumbass.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 38 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Was he pulling out the Trump and local Republican signs too? No? Then he knew, he just didn't want to get in trouble for what he did. Fucking cowards don't have the conviction to actually stand up for their beliefs.

No, you see, BIG STRONG PATRIOTIC MEN wear diapers and whine like it's way past naptime when they're told "no."

Their excuses are always just so cute. I've met 6yo's that are better bullshitters. By this reasoning, STOP signs are litter and should be removed. Could make the same argument about billboards, which i would actually agree with.

"The man said Williams assaulted him by attempting to take the signs [that he'd illegally stolen] away from him, knocking his keys to the ground. He said it broke his key chain."

The man who stole the signs actually sent me the rest of his statement that the WOKE news wouldn't print, "I knew it could happen... I just didn't think it could happen to me... I'm so sorry keychain of snoopy with a big exposed dick that I got in Mexico while trying to find underage prostitutes! This should not have come down on you, and for that I am eternally sorry"

The man was last seen at a local Michaels craft warehouse, screaming across the aisles in anguish, tears streaming down his face, "Which one of these is snoopy dick glue? For fucks sake sometime help me!!!"

[–] charade_you_are@sh.itjust.works 16 points 4 days ago (2 children)

That ought turn the tide in his favor. Some people might be forgetting who they were going to vote for while going to the polling places and the signs won't be there to remind them.

[–] paddirn@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

"Shit, who was I voting for again? Harriet? Harold? Harburg? The other name started with a W or a V or something right? Oh wait, this guy's name is Vance, that must be it. I'm voting for Trump & Vance, almost screwed that one up!"

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

That's a pretty confident statement in the era of the "undecided" voter?

And of course, it isn't about memory, it's about voter intimidation. You see this red hat brown shirt doing this shit publicly without remorse and it tells you he might break your window if you try to put a sign in your yard or break your fucking arm if he sees you with a Harris shirt in the streets.

Giggle all you need to, but you're talking around the point here.

Don't worry buddy, I giggled all that I needed to and more. Lamest voter intimidation ever...giggle

[–] Supervisor194@lemmy.world 24 points 5 days ago

I thought Trump was a shoo-in? Christ knows that's the message these people are getting over and over again, drummed into their heads so they can get good and pissed off when they're told the truth.

[–] PetteriPano@lemmy.world 25 points 5 days ago (1 children)

In my country we have designated billboards where candidates get to put up their posters ahead of elections. Usually along roads, by malls, promenades, etc.

Messing with those is election interference. Believe it or not, straight to jail!

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

Doesn't stop some people though

[–] El_guapazo@lemmy.world 27 points 5 days ago

Bad faith arguments? Feigning benign ignorance? Lip service to accountability until he has to pay? He must be a trumpy voter

I wonder how he'd feel about me expressing my political beliefs. 🏏

[–] DarkDecay@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

Fuck they're so desperate. It'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetic

[–] JimVanDeventer@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What is the exclusion zone for campaign signs around a voting place in the US? The article makes it sound like they are right at the site? Or he carried the sign from somewhere else to destroy it on site?

[–] Timmy_Jizz_Tits@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I don't know for sure but it must be state laws. I believe Georgia has has laws against it I know California does. It really creates so much needless nonsense and it would require the US congress to fix but the GOP has made that entire branch of government, practically, non-functional.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

These signs were too close to balloting area right?

Right guys?

Straight to jail. Oh what am I saying, this is Raleigh, they're going to give him an award.

[–] UnpopularCrow@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago
[–] collapse_already@lemmy.ml 4 points 4 days ago

"When I shot him to defend the signs, I was expressing my political beliefs."

First amendment is cool, we can excuse anything with it.

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)
[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

You take that back! I'll have you know he voted three times and would have voted even more times if his friend group had known the location of any other polling stations!

[–] BilboBargains@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

It's interesting because the guy looks like a genius but he's doing something really dumb.
