  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Alternate (More accurate) Headline:
Washington Post editorial writers’ endorsement of Kamala Harris stopped by CEO

“The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement of a presidential candidate in this election,” wrote Will Lewis, The Post’s chief executive. “Nor in any future presidential election. We are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates.”

The Washington Post’s editorial writers had already drafted an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for president, according to four people who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive newsroom matters.

So much for Democracy Dies in Darkness

that's all I've ever seen it as.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

That’s all it ever was. Well, besides being a sick joke.

[–] sp3tr4l@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago

Apparently so.

The Onion's ironic? slogan is 'Twilight's Last Gleaming'... which is now essentially a perfect parody of WaPo's slogan, in that it is now 100% accurate.

Fuck Bezos.

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I was wondering how long Bezos would leave them to their devices. He's been far more cautious about revealing his politics but Amazon's frothing anti-union subterfuge speaks at least something for itself.

He's typically left WaPo alone, so I just wonder whether what's changed is that Bezos feels the writing is on the wall. Maybe sensing a Trump victory, like the hyper rational alien he is, he decided blocking a Harris endorsement is the right move to position himself best for the post-democracy, oligarchical and fascist America on the horizon.

He figures that if Trump wins, he will seek retribution, but if Harris wins, she will not seek retaliation at all. Which would you choose, if you had no morals and didn't mind casual fascism as long as you get to keep your insane wealth?

[–] sp3tr4l@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 weeks ago

Huh, that's an interesting new Amazon User Policy update.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Stop shopping, Amazon. It's making everything worse.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Absolute 100% pure, uncut, organic, artisinal bullshit.

Fuck the WaPo. Shit eating cowards.

[–] TipRing@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Our oligarchs are drooling over how much power they imagine gaining in a Trump presidency and will do everything they can to ensure the manipulible fascist wins so they can have the kleptocracy they have been dreaming of for years.

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

And they'll keep dreaming about it right on out the 3rd story window if he does win.

[–] TipRing@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

"But I didn't do anything wrong!" - Last thoughts of a fascist oligarch.
