They want foot stuff. To get the heat off of them they pulled the old 'it's for my friend'. They took it a step further in naming their friend Quentin. We can assume due to his well known foot fetish, that OP was referring to Quentin Tarantino

I did notice that in Magilumiere, the red haired MC Kana's transformation sequence prominently, if fleetingly, features her feet, just before her boots appear.
