Every time I close mbin and open it again, my feed keeps resetting to "hot". Is there a way to set it permanently to newest?

Are you using an app? A web browser?

[-] Sundial@lemm.ee 5 points 3 days ago

In your settings. If you want specific instructions, then we'll need to know what app you're using. Or if you're on your browser.

I'm using the fedia.io site on mobile.

Personally I ended up bookmarking the newest page and just using that

[-] circledsquare@fedia.io 1 points 3 days ago

So how do you bookmark the "newest" feed?

[-] all-knight-party@fedia.io 1 points 3 days ago

For me, it's this link: https://fedia.io/sub/threads/newest

This filters it by only my subscribed magazines, and then sorts them by newest

That link showed the feed how I want it... but how do you save it?

Personally I'm on chrome on mobile, so when I'm on that page I can just hit the star up to the right of the web address and it will bookmark it.

I actually set it as my homepage so I can just hit the home button and it takes me there, if you're also on chrome you should be able to tap the little box icon up there that shows how many tabs you have open, then hit the three dots icon and go to settings, then tap homepage and you can paste in the link

Ah, I'm on Waterfox. Thanks anyway!

If you use the apk for lemmy called "thunder" you can set up your default to be whatever option you want.

[-] AsudoxDev@programming.dev 2 points 3 days ago

Thunder does not support mbin.

[-] circledsquare@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago

Yes, I discovered that when I downloaded it and tried to sign in.

If you are searching for an android app, there's Interstellar. It supports both Mbin and Lemmy.

[-] circledsquare@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago

I tried Interstellar and it was missing some features, so I used the site on browser. I might have to try Interstellar again.

[-] jwr1@kbin.earth 2 points 2 days ago

If there are any specific features you feel are missing, feel free to reach out. We are always looking to improve. (I'm the developer btw.)

Even now, we have several major features queued for the next update and are in the process of a much needed ui overhaul.

I'm not computer/app savvy (in case you haven't noticed haha) so I don't really know how to get across what I would recommend. All I know is that app development is harder than it looks, and developers put a lot of work into these things with little gratitude. So I don't want to nag. Though I am happy to hear changes are coming, especially the UI. If I can figure out how to say what I want in an app, I'll let you know! ๐Ÿ‘
