As a local bloke, this whole sitch is pretty much the one sour point of Walz's run. And like, I try to be reasonable, and I WOULD NOT want to be in his shoes during those protests. Yes, some of us got quite out of hand, but we were understandably quite cross with the fact that while we're trying to survive a pandemic, we're still getting lynched over allegedly bad bills -- which is royally fucked all day ever day.

Hard to know what would have even been a better path forward. MPD famously has many critics, with good reason. But it got out of hand with the friendly fire and collateral damages. Pretty damned on both sides of the coin. Letting Trump roll in goon squads would no doubt be even worse. Saw plenty peaceful protests get agitated by 12 until it became chaos. That summer was fucked.

Juuust a wee ramble from a dude who recalls the cop riots, brutality, and flames like they were just the other summer...
