All we have gotten from that instance are racists, right wing dipshits, transphobes and rabit transatlanticists. There is nothing of value there. That one instance of extreme transphobia one of our comrades recived in her DMs alone should be enough to hold a vote on defederation.

lol holy fuck they are having a real cope session about us over there

We're also having constant cope sessions with the concept of lemmy too. Maybe peope are seeing our 50 metaposts about other instances and getting annoyed by that too.

They are already in the process of defederating from us. Shouldn't be long.

I suspect our admins have had chats with theirs about the unbridled transphobia and they didn't go anywhere. No improvements from the s.j.w side, obviously.

Trust The Plan (of hexbear admins doing a good job).

Are we getting our own "csn we defederate from" template posts now too?

Are people using the "All" selector or something? 90% of my experience of other sites is posts like this. Or is it more about users of other instances coming here?

Federation doesn't mean you have to interact with other instances (unless someone is harassing you in which case they should be reported). It's more to "allow" interaction with other instances. Federation isn't designed around being closed off from every other instance you are opposed to. Imagine if email worked that way.

But I'm interested to know if people are just using lemmy in different ways.

Setting the selector to Local does a lot to de-reddify hexbear, but we still have a bunch of reactionaries barging in here and making the place unsafe for our marginalized comrades. Being one of these, i'm super fucking pissed at all the marketplace of ideas libs who i-voted for federation with instances that have a glaringly obvious reactionary presence. I do not think the situation we have rn is in any way tolerable. I known the admins are considerate of these concerns and try to find a solution, and i appreciate that a lot, but this whole fiasco has fucking hurt.

Yeah and i hands down do not want any interaction with instances that follow some shitty free speech paradigm and allow racism and transphobia. I do not want these people to get banned after ruining my mood, i want them to not be here at all, it's a hazard to my well-being. I do not come here to feel worse afterwards, i do not come here to receive microtrauma, i do not come here to lecture white cis dudes about trans women in sports, i do not want to have to worry who'll see and reply to my posts and if i will get to see the reply before the mods delete it, but this is what i'm faced with now.

Instant defederation of these instances is the only way forward. And that's already a compromise, if it were up to me we wouldn't even be federated with lemmygrad.

Where’s a nice instance that’s just alright and not as described or like the other wildly described ones?

I enjoy content but don’t wish to associate with the described

Our doors are always open but if you'd rather not be in the hexbear gang I've heard that midwest.social is pretty good apparently
