What is geoscience?
Geoscience (also called Earth Science) is the study of Earth. Geoscience includes so much more than rocks and volcanoes, it studies the processes that form and shape Earth's surface, the natural resources we use, and how water and ecosystems are interconnected. Geoscience uses tools and techniques from other science fields as well, such as chemistry, physics, biology, and math! Read more...

I thought it was always an asteroid
You're right! The article explains the comet idea is only a few years old, and new data confirms it's an asteroid, not a comet.
Ok. I must have misunderstood the dinosaur documentary I watched when i was 10. About 30 years ago.
Nope. I just didn't read.
international team of scientists have reaffirmed the original hypothesis,
Did you all know that there have been 5 mass extinction events till today?
Sixth one is happening now.
I mean... The thing is still there, ain't it? Who the fuck thought it was a comet?
What’s the difference?
I think comets have predictable paths for long periods of time so they show up again and again, like Haley’s comet
Ah, and asteroids are just kinda out there floating around without orbiting any specific thing?
