There are 10 people in the entire galaxy and they ALL know each other

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 32 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The galaxy keeps bending around over and over again toward Tatooine. It is the planet that is furthest from the bright center of the universe but that doesn't stop it from being sand Rome. the-more-you-know

[–] fox@hexbear.net 28 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The only thing that makes Tatooine special is that it was originally the complete ass end of nowhere, but the freeze-gamer hoot and holler when media shows them a thing they've already seen

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 24 points 3 months ago (6 children)

That's one of the most offputting parts of Star Wars in general: it's bent into the gravity well of its fandom so much that the ass-end of space is also where more of its events seem to happen compared to other planets.

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 12 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Does the Star Wars Fandom^TM^ discuss anything other than the latest conspiracy about evil witch Kathleen Kennedy building a time machine to go back in time and kill George Lucas?

And 4 of them are clone soldiers with a dark past they're trying to make amends for.

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 18 points 3 months ago (3 children)

This one has a pretty reasonable connection.

Zeb is close with Hera, Hera’s close with Ahsoka, Ahsoka knows Grogu+Mando bc Jedi shit.

Oh and Mando knows Bo Katan who knows Ahsoka + Hera + Zeb + Sabine who’s a mandalorian.

This one time, unless they randomly happen upon each other instead of deliberately meeting, this isn’t a case of small galaxy, it’s just a case of “These are shows about this connected group of people”

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 32 points 3 months ago (7 children)

It makes sense. Zeb knows Bombo. Bombo visited Uyun Poot's Saloon in Legends: Star War X Wing Borb Season 3 Episode 12. (Pause at the 23 minute 11 seconds mark). Guess Who else visited that Saloon? None other than Hupple Swett (in the tie-in novel Admiral Poot and the Gyngul Assault). Yes, THAT Hupple Swett. Remember in Blue Elephant: The Jizz Guy: A Star Wars Story on Disney+, where Sorlac goes to the Qung Moon Station? Who does she fight at the end? Exactly, Ooogon Fetid (the disciple of Hupple Swett in case you're a cueless dweeb). And who had a skippable laser sword fight with Ooogon Fetid in the PS4 game Masters of Thbu Vobb? Dinkle Heinous.

So it makes perfect sense that Zeb shows up in the Bambolorian and Donk Movie

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 13 points 3 months ago

Dinkle Heinous

if it weren't for this name i legitimately wouldn't have been able to tell if this was a bit or not

Glup Shitto reportedly very upset at the snub

[–] LeylaLove@hexbear.net 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Glup Shitto makes me laugh so fucking hard every time I'm reminded of it

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

Me too, me too. Even reading this thread got me snorting. lenin-dont-laugh

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 21 points 3 months ago

You beat me to posting about Glub Shitto, but there's plenty of room in the Star War. how-much-could-it-cost

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 40 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Zeb fans are going nuts outside my apartment right now. The streets are flooded with people chanting "ZEB! ZEB! ZEB!". They are dragging everyone from their homes and shaming all those who doubted Zeb before now. I have al my lights off and am trying to stay quiet

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 38 points 3 months ago (3 children)

When Zeb fans encounter Glub Shitto fans:

PBF sells both pro- and anti- SKUB shirts and I’ve been contemplating them for quite some time.

me, a rebels fan and zeb enjoyer entering this thread: aware

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Besides Andor, the animated stuff is probably some of the best Disney-era Star Wars. shrug-outta-hecks

Also, I still don't see how this Mando movie could be anything but a direct to streaming thing. There's just too much nerd homework for this movie to be released in theaters and make any sense to the average moviegoer.

Homework is why I gave up on the MCU. Even when the movies were shit, if I felt like it, I could still put them on and understand them. They were shit on their own terms.

Now even Deadpool 3 has a joke like: "See this cloud monster that's the least interesting part of this movie? It's actually from the show Loki, available now on Disney Plus!"

[–] ClimateChangeAnxiety@hexbear.net 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I have a tattoo of Chopper. The people in this thread are losers and hate fun

[–] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 16 points 3 months ago

Hey, I might be a loser but I've had fun before and it was alright

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 30 points 3 months ago (4 children)

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Garazeb_Orrelios

The wookieepedia entry is as long as a novel, as I expected.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 23 points 3 months ago (5 children)

That feel when every random guy in the background in a space bar that was intended to be "what a bunch of weird characters" winds up being interconnected and important in increasingly implausible ways morshupls

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 16 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (3 children)

It's so goddamned stupid and this is coming from someone who likes the star wars comics and some of the EU.

Gulp Shitto doesn't need to be a sith master in exile with 150 years worth of backstory.

[–] UlyssesT@hexbear.net 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

One of my earliest points of friction with the fandom was the "WHO WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT" posts that dominated forums everywhere, almost all of them focused on (estimated, usually) midi-chlorian count for everyone involved. It's just calipers for Revan stans. cringe

[–] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 12 points 3 months ago (7 children)

That shit sucks ass

DUHH COULD GOKU BEAT UP SUPERMAN??? (9000 REPLIES)

btw the correct answer is always Darth Nihilus

dude was an actual walking black hole of spiritual death and literally only lost because he got sick of being too cool and decided to log off

Ok but this is not a random background part. He was created as a protag for an animated series that went 4(5?) seasons. Other characters? sure. But Zeb? Nah of course his wiki is gonna be long he features in like 85% of the episodes of an entire show.

I-was-saying

Zeb always kinda sucked and his "generic surly tough guy friend who's a grouchy hardass normally but is secretly a gentle giant with a heart of gold" schtick was really tiring and Rex should've just been "the tough guy" member of the Rebels crew from the start, he's a way more interesting and layered character

Rebels should've just been "The Hera & Kanan Show, also Sabine and Rex are there too and Chopper is a gremlin R2D2"

Ezra gets a pretty good development and arc eventually be he's such a damn wiener kid initially and I also always thought Kanan and Hera should've been the protagonists

Also whenever Ashoka's not on the screen, all the other characters should be looking around asking, "Where's Ashoka?"

In conclusion, the galaxy far, far away is a land of contrasts

[–] Black_Mald_Futures@hexbear.net 21 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Excuse me but Zeb had other character traits, like being Genocide Survivor and then subsequently forgiving the guy that did the genocide

He's just Steve Blum. Guy voices the same character every time
