I just want it to stop interrupting my music because I got another spam email. Its either all notifications or nothing.

I just have my mail set to silent notifications so I still see if I got an email but it doesn't interrupt anything.

I would love for a way to acknowledge a notification without deleting it. So I can get it off the screen but not remove it entirely. I just want to deal with it later

What happens if you flick it up?

Exactly what they're describing lol

I hear that there's a large subset of the population that is also receptive to that action being performed a specific part of their bodies.

Swipe it up rather than sideways

Yes. I was very excited for notification snoozing, but having only a couple options and the longest being 2 hours makes it sorta worthless.

There are some apps that provide a notification history

This is a native android feature since 13 I think. It's disabled by default though, you can enable it in the notification settings.
