These athletes that are mad about trans people in sports are universally the middle of the pack "also ran" losers.

Like, yes, you lost a random marathon to a trans woman, sure. But you also lost to like 71 other people out of the 200 people in the thing so the whole "stolen victory" thing they all try to play is nonsense. A trans person competing did not make the difference between you coming in first and you coming in 38th.

Research showed that low skill playing correlated with online gaming sexism. Bet is the same here.

What sport is this? I'm seriously struggling to imagine a sport in which a 24 year old could lose to a 7 year old. Maybe a foot race where the 24 year old is extremely out of shape?

I think skateboarding. Meza has a skateboard in the background of this picture and a google search finds someone of 11 years with that name identifying as a surfer/skater

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 35 points 3 months ago (2 children)

That tracks. Little kids can make up for a lack of leg strength for getting height by just being light as hell, especially if it's vert, there's a few videos around of small kids doing 900s and I've seen a couple 1080s and that's still pretty damn rare for adults, being smaller and having a super low center of gravity does really have it's advantages with ramps and with grinding. Skateboarding as a competitive sport doesn't make much sense in the first place, but an 11 year old could conceivably wreck an adult depending on the competition

Shorter, lighter people honestly have a bit of an advantage in vert skating where the size of the ramp makes up for their weight and strength potentially not giving them as much speed and pop. Being shorter allows you to spin faster, and being lighter allows you greater tolerance on less than perfect landings where a larger skater probably would have gotten wheelbite and ate shit if all other things were equal. There have been kid skating prodigies doing NBD shit for awhile now. Mitchie Brusco, the guy that landed the first (mega ramp) 1260 started super young and I feel like with Nyjah and Yuto dominating competitions, skateboarding has kind of entered into an era where the big medal winning skaters are all savants that started skating when they started walking like Olympic gymnasts.

When I was a kid I wanted to be a pro skateboarder, but I got super discouraged when I learned Ryan Sheckler started skating as a toddler. I figured I had no chance and gave up lol

Skateboarding as a competitive sport doesn't make much sense in the first place,

Ever played pro skater?

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 14 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Lmao. How can you even get into skateboarding as an anti gay conservative when it’s the epitome of flipping off old farts who hate everything

[–] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago

They covet and fetishize transgressive aesthetics just as much as they do the idea of victimhood

[–] D61@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

Dunno, maybe we should ask Tim Pool

[–] booty@hexbear.net 13 points 3 months ago

Ahh, yep, that makes sense. Little kids can be crazy good at skating

I don’t… understand. What does gay marriage have to do with women’s sports. Is the idea that gay marriage is somehow causing trans people to exist or some shit?

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's a slippery slope argument. Don't ask what these people think comes after trans people are accepted.

[–] Hotspur@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 months ago

Ah ok gotcha. Seems like a shitty one—gay marriage is about orientation, transgenderism is about bio gender/identity, but I suppose the implication is that it’s all deviance and gay marriage is the gateway drug. Such an exhausting spectacle, but I guess it’s easier to hate others than deal with your own shit…

[–] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 21 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Uhh, yeah? How else are trans people born? And when trans people are married then non binary people are born. And when 2 non binaries are married then asexuals are born. And asexuals don't marry so humans as a specie start dying out. This is why all The Elders are so against all of this.

[–] Hotspur@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 months ago

Haha that makes so much sense, in the fried-brain thinking that people like the tweet OP exist within.

What happens if a lesbian married a trans femme is it like uno reverse? (Because in the twisted minds of these people, this would be a straight marriage, since the trans femme is obviously a self hating man, regardless of what she wants to be, and the lesbian, despite being a horrible deviant, has married a man while pursuing her preference)

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 21 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Lol these women’s audience don’t even respect women’s sports as a concept. They only pay attention for chauvinistic reasons and when you make their dicks hard.

[–] FugaziArchivist@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

As a fellow skater of Hexbear, I am ashamed of the minor notoriety that Taylor has gotten. Fortunately, there's a lot of radical skaters out there -- in both definitions of the word

[–] Findom_DeLuise@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

geordi-no Silver Surfer
