I think Logitech has been producing flimsy hardware for at least the past decade now, the only exception being their mice. In my experience, everything from keyboard to headset have been throwaway "subscription model" crap, you have to re-buy every year.
After having tried out a dozen different headsets, I've been most satisfied with SteelSeries (who also have throwaway crap hardware in other departments). My Arctis 7 pro has been soldiering on for years now. I've had to re-buy recently after 5 or so years, due to a faulty micro-usb charging port, but no one gets that point of wear and tear right anyway.
I dont have wifi SS but I do have another pair with micro usb port. I got magnetic micro usb cable since i forget im on charger when leaving table. You can plug in tiny peace and then just place cable close enough. Bit off topic but might be useful
Very useful indeed. Didn't know this was a thing.
Yeah cheap e-bay cables are working for years. Probably slow charging, but shouldnt be a problem for headset. Got that for few devices after I destroyed one port
Thanks!
I agree with the SteelSeries, great headset! Though if you don't mind going wired you could pick any studio grade headset and pair with a separate mic (or if you want it attached modmics are good).
That way you don't have to compromise on the quality of the headset while still being able to use voice online.
I'm currently set up all wired, and use my bluetooth earbuds for if i want to go away from my desk (like if i want to listen to videos for which when laying down a headset would get in the way)
I’ll add another +1 for steelseries.
I use the arctis 1 wireless for work and arctis 7 for gaming and to watch tv when my wife is asleep. The arctis 1 is a bit bass heavy but has good sound isolation. Arctis 7 has a reasonably good flat eq for a gaming headset and I’ve been really happy with the sound quality even compared with my sennheisers.
