Feel like you have something to post, but it's not really relevant to any of the current communities, and you don't feel like it's worth making an entirely new community just to post it? This is the place for that.

NSFW content is allowed in this community so long as you mark it as per site rules.

I already get most of my lolisho content from Baraag, and I mainly use e621 and Twitter to look for yiff, besides occasionally browsing Pixiv as well. For the pregnancy/birth content that I like there's still Pregchan and the Preggophilia forum. I also have an NSFW Reddit alt, but I barely use it since they don't allow most of the content that I like.

It was nice having a reddit-like website to share and compile the stuff that I like even if some communities weren't very active, so it's a shame that Burggit has to go. I don't think I'll be creating new accounts on any fediverse servers since none of them follow the same principle of allowing free thought and expression.

Are there any other websites you plan on joining after Burggit is gone? Or are you just sticking to other accounts you already have?

if you're considering microblog instances like baraag and shota.house, what's wrong with burggit's sharkey instance? Do you not like Sharkey specifically? You can follow baraag creators from there if that's what you wanted to do on baraag.

Okay, to be be quite honest, I'm just completely baffled by this sharkey thing. By now I don't even know how to find it anymore. I saw it for a while while the lemmy instance was down, and I never got what it even is, what it does. Nobody ever explained it to, it was just like "here's a sharkey instance", as if that's a thing that everybody knows what it is, when I have never before or since then even heard that word outside of burggit.moe.

I think it has something to to with mastodon, but even then, the details or how it offers anything beyond mastodon are completely fuzzy to me.

basically that place IS pretty similar to mastodon. it's just a different fediverse micro-blogging application.

if you're familiar with mastodon, there's a UI mode that's similar to mastodon. After making an account, on the left bar, click on "more" then "switch UI" then select "classic". that makes Sharkey look a bit more like mastodon. If you have any trouble after that, I'm @diff@dill.burggit.moe over there. I'm still learning some things myself, but I got all the basics down.

@diff@burggit.moe not sure if the users in this thread can see this (I don't know how the federation between lemmy and sharkey works) but this is me posting from my sharkey account

This is visible from the lemmy instance at burggit.moe.

Okay, I just learned that it is a completely, utterly different experience. To be honest, I just never even tried to make one, because from what you can see at the outset, it doesn't look like there'd be a point…

yeah the logged out page was a bit blank when I joined. I didn't really know what it would look like until I made one.
