Pokemon slowly poisoned my nostalgia too. Haven't touched a game since X/Y. Might try a modded game in the future, as they seem to hold some challenge

Pokemon Emerald Rogue and PokeMMO are great ways to play Pokemon minus Gamefreak ;P

Idk about that source for Pokemon Rogue as I found mine somewhere else, but the MMO link is solid.

I love RPing as Youngster Joey and domming random trainers with my top percentage rattata. Get to create your own rival battles as long as you're interacting with players. Travel between regions... Great game. :)

The rogue-like is a unique approach to Pokemon, but that link does it more justice than I can.

Thanks I'll be sure to give them a try!

Gamefreak has no vision for the series. They possess the most valuable media franchise in the world and they just keep shitting out worse versions of the same game. Even when they stumble into something cool like Pokemon Legends Arceus, they don't know what they have and so don't give it the polish it deserves
