Ergonomic, split and other weird keyboards
Rules
Keep it ergo
Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)
i.e. no regular non-split¹ row-stagger and no non-split¹ ortholinear²
¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid

I like it! I love the use of one shots and TD to get to multiple layers. I’m on a Corne w ZMK
One thing I took advantage of was having Esc on my thumb for Vim. Here’s my (undocumented, sorry) repo, albeit in zmk i case there’s anything there for inspiration. https://github.com/allymparker/zmk-config-unified
Yes that extra thumb key is awfully tempting. It was touch and go whether I was going to start my ergo keyboard journey with two or three thumb keys. In the end I went with a hunch that I didn't want to pull my thumb too far under my palm for that third key but having escape or a leader key right on my thumbs would be very powerful.
