What do you mean by "Schlafly mentality?" I'm not really well-read on the history there.
She was one of the leading opposition to the equal rights amendment.
I gathered as much from the Wikipedia page, but I was curious about the "mentality" being talked about, the psychological aspect, since Wikipedia mostly just discusses basic facts and events.
Not speaking for theposterformerly, but I think they’re talking about the paradoxical nature of Schlafly advocating for a lifestyle she herself was not living. Right wing tradwife grifters making a professional career out of telling women they shouldn’t have professional careers.
The idea that just kind of being stuck playing life support system is actively appealing and glamorous, I think.
A woman acting as a public intellectual and political figure for a movement that is explicitly about women not being part of public and intellectual life. Making long posts, speeches or campaigns abiut how people like you shouldn't get to speak.
And specifically here I'm talking about all the little coquettish fascists.
