Season 11 - episode 1. The only correct thing in your post is the premier date/time.
My broadcasted TV from the 2000's and torrents don't lie, companies wanting to make their TV shows seem longer do, it's season 8
I suspect it's because they contracted for two more seasons and then released each of those seasons over two consecutive years with enough episodes to fill two seasons each.
E.g. Season 6 had episodes released in June 2010 and July 2011. It's a pretty reasonable expectation that that would be two different seasons.
For torrenting and Plex purposes the TVDB is the ultimate source of truth, If they said it was 14 seasons we'd be using 14 seasons for those numbers because it makes our automation work.
Most places seem to be calling 102 and 128 splits of the previous season instead of new seasons.
As much as I don't care for the idea, the TV databases the ultimate source of truth for many. I know when I inducted into my Plex server it's going to show up this season 8.
